CAGDU has extended the deadline to apply for a grant to the 2026 national
convention in Austin, Texas to June 1. Below is information about the
grants and the eligibility criteria.
The California Association of Guide Dog Users (CAGDU) is offering two
grants in the amount of $200 each to attend the 2026 National Federation of
the Blind national convention in Austin, Texas July 3-8.
To be eligible to receive the grant, you must meet the following criteria:
● You must be an active CAGDU member
● You must be an active guide dog user or between guide dogs
● You must have attended at least two CAGDU meetings within the last
six months
● You must attend the NAGDU seminar, NAGDU business meeting, Board
meeting, general session, and banquet at the national convention
Application Process:
If you are interested in applying for one of the grants, you must submit an
email to Shannon Dillon at shannonldillon at gmail.com by June 1, 2026,
explaining how the grant will support your convention attendance and what
you hope to gain from the convention. Applications will be reviewed by a
committee. If you are chosen to receive a grant, you will be notified by
email. If you are chosen to receive a grant, you will receive the funds
following the end of the convention.
