The reboot is always a good idea if you are not seeing the new drive
under My Computer.

Subject: [nfbcs] Where's my drive?

Hi guys.
I have an external disk drive, which connects via USB. When I connected
it, and turned it on, my PC, running XP, said "Found new hardware" and
made the USB connect noise. If I turn off the disk drive, it also makes
the USB disconnect noise. But I can't see the drive in My Computer, or
Windows Explorer. What essential step am I missing?
Thanks.
Tracy
