[nfbcs] NHL Games on the Internet

The system is much less interesting than it was in past years. On each day,
go to Scores. There will be a link in each case to Watch Now. It says
that, but it actually takes you to the home radio broadcast. You can't
easily get to the away broadcast, but from the main NHL site is a link to
Teams, which in turn is a page with the home page links to each team. Of
the several teams whose pages I checked, it was always possible, with some
more easily than with others, to find the link to listen to their games.
Hence, one can access both feeds of any game, but it takes some effort to
get to the visiting team's stream.

Subject: [nfbcs] NHL Games on the Internet

Hi, All.

Up to this year, a web site known as "The Ice Zone" had links for
streams of games of all NHL teams. This year, however, the streams don't
seem to be active anymore or, rather, some of them merely replay last
year's NHL playoof action.

So I went to http://GameCenter.NHL.COM and discovered that the NHL is
touting a video package (which I'm not interested in), all the while
playing *one* game -- at the moment, it's the Bruins and the Thrashers.
The page is highly dependent upon ADobe Flash and is somewhat (but not
fully) accessible.

Does anyone know how to select the various games for listening? Or has
the NHL gone to a subscription-only system for audio as well as video?
There was a time when NHL would have been glad to *give* subscriptions
away as a teaser to go to games.

Anyway, any info on navigating NHL audio is appreciated.

Mike Freeman
