Howdy Folks,

I'm seeing a very interesting problem on my wife's Windows Vista
laptop.

In short, if I hover over the C drive in "Computer", it says that the
drive is 98% full, using about 86 of 88 GB.

However, if I run the command...

C:\> dir /ah /ar /aa /as /a-d /s

and look at the total line at the end of the output, it says I'm only
using around 40 GB. This lines up with what I see if I hover over the
individual folders in the root directory of the C drive.

The user I'm logged in as is an administrative user, I've turned off
UAC just so I know I have admin access.

i'd like to figure out where that extra data is lurking. If anyone
has any ideas on what's up, I'd love to hear from you.

I think my next step is to see if her AV software is up to date and
scanning cleanly.

Thanks for your time...

Jim
