Hi again Ryan,

Thanks for the info about your phone, sorry to hear it's not accessible, but
I'm very glad to hear you are getting one that works. I think you should be
able to deactivate your Mobile speak on the 3G and then reactivate it on the
Shadow. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Beth

Hi, Beth,

To let you know, on the Dash 3G, the home key is to the right of Left Soft,
the Back key is to the left of the Right Soft key, the Enter key has been
moved to the right of the period and replaced by a trackball, and there are
no arrow keys. I spoke to T-Mobile and because the lack of arrow keys makes
the 3G not fully accessible, they are going to swap it for a Shadow, which
still has arrows. I just hope I can transfer the 30-day free trial for
Mobile Speak Smartphone. Thanks for your help and advice.

Take care,
   Ryan

Hello Ryan,

I have the original Dash, so I don't know how different it is then yours.
However, if your phone is at all like mine, the arrow key function is not
really governed by keys per se. Rather, there is a square key in the
center of the phone that performs this function.
Here is what my phone looks like so this will make more sense to you. If
you're holding the phone so that the screen points away from you and the
buttons are pointing towards you, the keys go from left to right in this
order: the send button which is vertical in shape, to the right is the left
soft key, under this is the home key. Directly to the right is a big square
key with a small key in the center of it. This is the arrow key. Press on
the big square key to go up, press down to go down, on the right of the
square to go to the right, and the left of the square to go left. To the
right of the square key is the right soft key on the top button and under
this is the cancel or back button on the bottom. The button in the center
of the big square button is the enter or select key. If your phone is
different then this, I apologize, but if I can help further, please feel
free to contact me via private mail or reply here.

Thanks,

Beth----Original Message-----

Hello, Beth,

I bought the T-Mobile Dash 3G and just downloaded Mobile Speak for
Smartphones. This version of the Dash has a qwerty keyboard but no arrow
keys, which is what I am told to use by Mobile Speak when I try to go
anywhere. Does your version of the Dash have arrow keys, and if not, what
keys do you use in their place?

Thanks,
Ryan Stevens

Hello Ryan,

I've been a T-mobile customer for several years now. I am using a T-mobile
Dash with Mobile Speak. The Dash, the Dash-2, and other phones that support
Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1 should be fine with the Mobile speak for Windows
Mobile. The T-mobile Shadow is also supported, but I haven't tried that
phone. T-mobile also makes some phones that are Pocket PC phones that work
with the Mobile Speak Pocket software. Before I got Mobile Speak for
Windows, I used the Simbian version of Mobile speak with several Nokia
phones. Unfortunately, T-mobile doesn't sell Mobile speak, so you'll need
to investigate who sells the version of Mobile Speak that you want. I
looked on the Code Factory web site, you can find it at www.mobilespeak.com,
there is a link for distributors, then US distributors. I got my Mobile
Speak from Vision Cue but there are several vendors that sell Mobile speak
and its various software versions.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Beth

Hello,

I want to upgrade my cel phone to one that accomodates speech and has
texting capability. I'm a T-Mobile customer and I want to know which models
of their phones work with either Talks or MobileSpeak, and also how I order
the software.

Thanks,
Ryan Stevens
