Hello Elizabeth,
I noticed the same problem with the sprint broadband wireless card my
company provides so I can work remotely. You must use a program called
Sprint Smart View in order to use the card, and it has the same problem.
There's a connect button you must click, and no hotkey or anything to
select it. I'm a Window-Eyes user, not a jaws user. However, the method
I use to do it might help. There is a command in Window-Eyes that allows
you to move the mouse a certain number of pixels which is user
configurable. I have memorized where the connect button is located in
relation to the line which tells me when the card has been initialized
and is ready to connect. I just hit the key to move the mouse down a
certain number of times, then the key to move it right a certain number
of times, then hit the key to perform a left click. If I put the mouse
in the right hand corner of the window I can actually go up and left
with fewer key strokes, but after getting in the habbit of doing it from
the status line toward the top for so long I always forget that. The
magic numbers are 20 down, 60 to the right. It's a lot of key strokes i
know, but I only have to do it when I connect. I could probably make it
jump by more pixels at a time and decrease the number of key presses,
but I just haven't spent the time to do that since I really don't have
to hit that button very often. LOL
