Hello Michael. I use Remote Desktop with JAWS For Windows and have had considerable success doing it. Certainly it is somewhat slower than using jaws directly, and most especially is this noticeable when moving from character to character. Nevertheless, I think there are very few options that I can't perform from home that I can perform by sitting here at my desktop.

If you have more specific questions I'd be glad to help. I'm going to forward you a message which explains our configuration with a bit more detail than I've provided thus far.

For informational purposes...
What you are currently using, that seemed to solve your issues was. Remote Desktop through what is called a Microsoft Windows Terminal Server Gateway. (Requires Windows Server 2008 or newer for the gateway server)

What we used to have you using was a Citrix Server you would connect to, and then use Remote Desktop from there to get to your machine. You indicated it was workable for reading, but not editing email due to its odd behavior regarding which side of the insertion point it read the character from, and I think you also indicated it also sometimes cut off the end of the words.

So what worked for you was, a Windows machine at Home, connecting through Windows Terminal Server Gateway, to Windows XP machine in your office.
