Ok, here's how you do it. First, go to the control pannel, and then to
folder options. Find the view tab and locate the tree view. Turn off
"remember each folder's view settings". Then open a my computer window,
to the C drive is probably fine. Set the view the way you want it,
address bar, title bar detail view, etc. Once you've done that, select
Tools, then Folder Options. Now select the View tab again, and this time
hit the "Apply to All Folders" button.
