I agree with Robert, a big external drive is the way to go.  Take a look at 
the drives available at Buy.Com ( I'm a customer, no financial connection) 
at 
<http://www.buy.com/cat/external-portable-usb-firewire-nas-hard-drive/223.html> 
.  There's 6 pages with most Terabyte (1000 Megabyte) drives being around 
$100 to $150.
