Also try adjusting the screen resolution. I had a similar issue at home
when I bought a new big monitor for the kids. I had to get sighted help to
adjust the screen properties so the screen worked for the kids and JAWS
worked for me. Thank God for a computer savvy neighbor!

Thanks, William

Hi Gary and list,

I get those types of messages also and I don't think they have anything to
do with it. I have tried shutting down JAWS and that didn't help. However, I
will try shutting down the outlook next time. Anything to make it shorter
than rebooting. (grin).

I do not recall having this problem but before you do a reboot I would
suggest closing down jaws and Outlook express and then reopening both of
them. I wonder if there are any kind of warning messages which come up
when you boot the computer for the first time in a day which do not
occur in subsequent boots of Windows. Where I work, for example, I may
get a message telling me that my system had to be rebooted in order to
do an update. I also might get a message telling me that a new virus
protection file is available. Generally these will not appear if I
dismiss them and do subsequent reboots during the day. They will,
however, reappear the next day until I acknowledge them either by
applying the update or checking a box which says do not tell me again.

Gary

I use outlook express. I mean who the message is from and wheather it is
read or unread.

What is your e-mail client? I assume this is what you mean by the
"message."

Hi Listers,

I have recently installed JAWS 10 at my work. More frequently than ever
before when I bring up the computer in the morning JAWS reports the
status of the message and the message as blank. The screen is maximized.
I first tried bringing JAWS down and bringing it back up. That does not
help. Finally I restart the computer. Usually this fixes the problem,
but this is very annoying. It is not like my home computer, the Gov is
taking care of me and it might take as long as 7 minutes to shutdown and
restart. Have any of you had this problem?
