Good morning Fred. How are you opening the attachment from Outlook? Are
you tabbing to it and pressing enter, or are you using the insert key with a
to open it?

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the reply. I am using XP on this machine. Your point about file
associations is what baffles me. In no other place does this problem exist.
Winamp automatically opens MP3 files no matter where, except in Outlook. I
cannot find any kind of setting or control to resolve the problem.

Again, thanks for the reply. By the way, I can simply save the file and
open it, but since it is voice mail, this defeats the purpose by making it
too long to deal with.

Merry Christmas to you and Debbie.

Warmest Regards,

Fred

What operating system are you using. You want your file associations set so
that an MP3 file activates whatever software you use for sound files. There
is a setting in Outlook that says to prevent opening any attachment which
might be dangerous, and though I have never heard of MP3 files falling into
this category, that may be the case.

Warmly,

Gary

Hello,

Does anyone know how to identify the player of preference for Outlook to use
to open MP3 files as attachments? Presently, Outlook simply says it cannot
open this file type. A T AND T sends voice mail attachments as MP3 files.
All hints are appreciated.

Merry Christmas.

Warmest Regards,

Fred
