It reads most text pretty well. You can't read in small incriments so for me, it is hard to use for the kinds of books I like. The NFB Access Technology blog describes it well.

I just found kindle for PC with accessability plug in.
It is the kindle PC software with text to speech and text to speech turned
on for all content.  Menues work very well with jaws and the books are
spoken with an ok text to speech.  Works good on a net book.  Even if the
text to speech is not the best this makes a lot of content accessable.
