Ah ... When you hit ENTER on the download, either hit Alt-S which will start
the download for saving or hit Alt-J to go to the ddownloads box and tab
over to the "save" choice which is second or third over and hit spacebar.
There will be a lot of verbage to listen to but suffer through it and the
last thing spoken will tell you whether you are choosing to save, open,
resume download or cancel.

Mike

Subject: [nfbcs] Downloading Web Braille Books In Windows 7

         Good evening everyone,

I have just started using Windows 7 Home Premium within the past month,
and am having trouble downloading Web Braille books. When I press enter to
download a volume file, I generally choose the Save button, bbut then
Windows 7 asks me with which program I want to open.
Yesterday, it asked me to have BRF files fixed with Speedy PC, which I did
not want. I just want to select a volume file, save it, and rename the file
to have it saved in my Library Books folder. Can some of you please send
some step-by-step instructions on how to download Web Braille books. This is
a brand-new computer, and I don't want to break anything after trying to do
something as simple as downloading books. I downloaded the Braille Readers
Are Leaders reading logs without any problem. As far as screen-reading
software goes, right now, I am using JAWS 12, but will soon be upgrading to
JAWS 13.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Mary Donahue

P.S. I have had to use Pete's laptop or desktop to download books, and
those are still in Windows XP, but I don't want to keep doing that.
