Hello Tara,
I recommend you subscribe to the nabs list. It is the National association
for blind students list. You can ask questions about online classes there.
To subscribe, send an email to nabs-l-request at nfbNet.org and put the word
"subscribe" in the subject line.

Subject: [nfbcs] new to list and questions

Hi everyone,

I just signed up for the list today since I'm interested in going back to
school to get a computer science degree. I already have a degree in
Biological Sciences but wanted to supplement it with the computer science
one since they go hand in hand in many employment settings. I am currently
employed full-time so am looking into distance education and this is where
my questions come in.

Have any of you completed coursework online? Was it accessible?

I have several schools in mind, like Baker, Regis, and University of
Atlanta. I think most are using Blackboard.

I use JAWS 13, iPhone, Open Book so am wondering if I can complete all the
work with this technology.

Basically, I want to know any obstacles you have faced during education and
even with future employment.

Look forward to hearing your responses,
Tara
