Leslie,
There are a few things you can do to try to narrow down the problem. When you press ENTER on the link to the MP3 and nothing happens, press ALT-N
to get to the information bar to see if there is a message there. There might be a setting that needs to be changed. Generally the setting would not
involve directly playing the MP3 but might more likely have to do with something the web site is doing. You might find a button that you have to press with
the SPACE bar that will give you options that you choose with the UP and DOWN Arrows and then press ENTER.
A second thing to do is to try to save the file instead of playing it. Go to the link and without pressing ENTER, press the "applications" key, sometimes
called the "Context" key often the third key to the right of the SPACE bar. Also, SHIFT F10 will work. This brings up a menu of things you can do with
the link and one option is to "Save Target As." When you save it, check the file name. If it has a file extension of ".PLS", it is not an MP3 but a sort of
shortcut to the MP3 file itself. These files will not work to play the MP3 unless you have WinAmp or possibly other MP3 players installed. Windows Media
Player doesn't play MP3 files using "PLS" files but will play MP3 files directly. However, if it is an MP3 file that you are saving, go ahead and save it and
then see if you can play it as a file. If it plays, then you know it is something in your browser. If it does not play, then there is a problem with whatever you
are using to play MP3's on your computer independent of the browser. If you already know that you can play MP3's directly, then it is a problem in the
Browser and the ALT-N step above might reveal something.
