[nfbcs] Textured touch screen

If I'm hearing the video correctly, Disney wouldn't appear to need to modify the tablet to do this.  It seems weird that youcan make someone feel something on the screen that isn't really there, but if they can do that without requiring that the tblet surface  is modified, well great.  That  means that any ordinary off-the-shelf tablet can be used, and not one that has been produced by a speciality company such as Tactus Technology .. which I've commented on in past posts to this group.  Then again, they didn't give away their "trade secret" .. so maybe a tablet device that they're using does have some sort of modification to make this work.

 

In any case, I would hope that the cost of the tablet wouldn't be more than what you can buy one from a normal vendor today.  And if they built this capability into every tablet .. if it became a standard ... then everyone would buy it and the cost would be kept to a minimum.

 

Well, time will only tell the story.
