Your comment about an 80 cell display being able to handle two monitors is a very compelling reason to buy an 80 cell display ... providing of course the screen reading software is developed such that that capability is built in to it.  I can't imagine why the functionality couldn't be there.  It would be a matter of enough people requesting the change to the screen reader vendor .. which means enough people would be able to afford an 80 cell display ... and that might be problematic unless you had a new technology that allowed rendering Braille at a much lower price point.

Maybe that's a good reason to encourage the people at Tactus Technologies to get on the ball.  They're supposed to be developing a tactile interface that is part of the tablet surface where the dots can be "popped up" on demand ... and not be present on a surface when they're not needed.  Meaning ... anybody could buy the tablet (braille user or sighted user) and either could use it.  You could have an application that rendered 2 dynamic displays on the tablet surface ... one for each monitor.  With that kind of technology, that could really drive prices down as it would be part of the tablet which everyone would buy.
