Hmmm ... I was able to get a real HP battery pack a few years ago from
Amazon. However, you might try http://www.newegg.com as this site has all
sorts of computer esoterica.

Subject: [nfbcs] Finding a New Laptop Battery

Hello All,

I would like to begin this first post by introducing myself. As my display
name suggests, I am Chris Nusbaum. I am currently a high school student here
in Maryland with an interest in technology, particularly technology
training. You may recognize my name from other NFB listservs, as I am an
active contributor to many of them. I look forward to observing the
discussion on this list and contributing where I can.

Now, on to my question. I currently use an HP laptop running Windows 7 Home
Premium. I have had this computer for about 3 years now and it looks as
though my current battery has run its course. The battery will now only hold
a charge for about 10 minutes before unexpectedly dying. Therefore, as you
might imagine, I am in the market for a new battery. So, are there any
places you would recommend where I could purchase this battery online? I
have checked HP's Web site, Amazon, and pricewatch.com. HP would only give
me information for local resellers, and even the salesman at my local
Staples told me he would not recommend buying the battery there, as it is
very overpriced. Amazon offered a battery for $30, but the customer reviews
were not glowing. The customers said that this battery was a " cheap
off-brand" which died within a month. So, where else can I turn? Are there
any sites which could offer me an HP battery without the markup of Staples?
Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Chris Nusbaum
