Hello Mike:

     I oppose the type of government involvement you suggest. Perhaps
getting funding for the development of a KDE screen reader for Linux or the
development of a better Java library would be a lot of help. More rigorous
enforcement of current accessibility laws would also help. The current
section 508 regulations 1194.22 that deal with web sites are long out of
date. The WCAG 2.0AA specifications would be a better set of regulations.
There is work changing to the WCAG 2.0AA rules but the progress is very
slow.
