Hi Daryl.
I have used Remote Jaws at work. Sometimes there is a bit of a lag between
keystrokes and speech, but mostly it works well.
You need a special add-on license from Freedom Scientific. I forget the
price, maybe $200? Then you need to set remote server and remote client in
Jaws advanced options. I know that's not terribly clear. The Jaws tech
support guys can walk you through this in about a minute, though.
I am not sure, but Jaws tech support feel it's important, or at least
helpful, to have the same version of Jaws running on both machines. This
can be a pain in the neck when you want to upgrade, because you have to do
it in synch.
If you're using remote Jaws because you're using Citrix, it gets more
complicated, because Jaws has to be installed on every Citrix server you
access.
HTH. Good luck with the new job.
Tracy

Hello!
Some of you might know me from the NAGDU lis. I am Dtaryl Marie, living in
Edmonton, AB Canada.

I am starting a new job that requires JAWS with Remote capability; any
pointers anyone can give about setting this up, working with it, or things
to look out for? Our IT guy seems pretty with it, but any information I can
have in hand would be great!

Daryl
