[nfbcs] Chatter in SQL Server

I wonder that, too. I looked, but nothing leapt out at me.
But meanwhile, I find that using insert-s to switch between "none" and
"highlighted" helps a whole lot. Thanks for pointing me in the right
direction.
Tracy

I wonder if there is a setting for turning off prediction in the query
editor.

It seems to yak most when I'm typing, or at least that's what sets it off.
I think part of it might be that it's trying to guess what I want to type,
which is annoying.
I'll try messing with Jaws speaking options, and see if that helps.
Thanks for the ideas.
Tracy

If this is html based with a virtual cursor you can try adjusting the JAWS
page refresh. You can set it to read nothing when pages refresh.

But if it's not html based, you could try creating a frame that's silent.

If you use BRAILLE, you could always turn off speech altogether.

Does maximizing the window help, Windows-Up arrow?

Does it yammer if it just sits there, without you making any input?

Does NVDA behave the same way?

Sorry, the little SQL I've done has been on the command line but I've had
this problem before with other software.

I am using Jaws and SQL Server 2008, or some such year. It chatters a lot
when I'm in the Query editor, saying random words and characters, and not
always reading the line where I am. Insert-escape to refresh the screen
helps, but very quickly it goes back to chattering.

Can I stop this from happening?

Thanks.

Tracy
