[nfbcs] How many of you got CS jobs through cold interviews?

				Now I'm wondering if the tone of the meetup
groups may be a regional thing.

I have to agree with Bryan. If you think Meet-Up groups are dates, you've
either been going to the wrong groups, or you've made someones meeting very
awkward.

Through the various meet-up groups I've attended, I've had opportunities to
learn about new and old tech, job opportunities, and expanded my network.
I've also had the opportunity to teach about my areas of expertise, which
has directly resulted in some paid gigs.
