Hi Mike,

that’s right, LiSSH is a Web Interface to the Linode console. I usually manage my VPS through a standard SSH connection, but there are cases where access to the console is needed and you cannot ssh into your server. ;)

You mentioned the SSH gateway for the console, here’s the reason why I asked you to elaborate a little bit more on that: the only method I know to access the console is the Web interface and it is not great from an accessibility point of view.

Also, I'm using yasr on linux--I wouldn't use a GUI screen reader for heavy terminal tasks if I have a choice, though Linux has more options there than other OSes. Regardless, using a ssh client would be worth a try if that isn't what you were using.

I haven't used it extensively, but I've logged in a couple of times to test that it does what I expect, and I didn't find any particular problems with it--it seemed to essentially act like any other terminal application.

I went to try to access the console on Linux, and, with most of the OS/browser/screen reader combinations I tried, I got a "canvas not supported" error. Even if I didn't see this error, I suspect that they're using the html5 canvas element and that the console interface wouldn't be accessible.

I'm switching to linode, since they provide a ssh gateway for accessing the server's console, and it turns out to be a better fit for me regardless.
