Hello all, thought I would let everyone know that I took and passed the A+
certification. And to Bryan Schulz, you were right about the simulation
questions; I used a reader of course and just had them click on stuff.
Again, in a world where I'm used to having most things provided to me in an
accessible format, I was not pleased with the reader option, but I just
decided to deal with it this time since I needed the certification for work.
It wasn't too bad, I just felt a little uncomfortable when I had to ask them
to read multiple questions further on in the test because I was getting
tired. The proctor allowed us to take breaks which was OK because I didn't
even use most of the time provided me. When I sensed that the reader needed
a break for some water (they wouldn't let her bring any in the testing room)
I would ask her if she needed a break. I do wish, though, that they would
come up with a different way for us to do this. It would be a little tough
for the recovery simulation questions (since we don't have speech in that
environment anyway) but for the Windows stuff at least I think there could
be some alternatives. Either way, all that matters is that I am now A+
certified!
