[nfbcs] Outlook Autocomplete and JAWS

Gary, JAWS has never been as consistent in reading the profiles in Outlook
for me as was Window-Eyes, so I can't say for me that it has gotten worse
but maybe it has. At least INSERT and UP ARROW usually reads the selected
profile for me. However, I can't find any way at this point to get the
autocomplete information.

Rebecca, I wondered right away if this happened to you as well. Are we the
only two on the most current version of Office on this list? It is hard to
know how much effort to put into this since I think their updates are weekly
and there will probably be another soon. Still, I am going to try to find
out the best way to give feedback. Windows key plus the letter F is one
way, and I might see how that works.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Subject: [nfbcs] Outlook Autocomplete and JAWS

Hi,

There has been some discussion here regarding JAWS automatically reading the
suggestions when typing in an address in an Outlook email. The speaking of
address choices stopped because Microsoft changed how this information was
communicated but an update to JAWS corrected the problem. However, this
reading has again stopped for me on two computers. I also can't get the
reading of suggested addresses to work with Narrator or NVDA, either. I am
using Office 365, so I am suspicious that this is another Microsoft change,
but I wondered if anyone else has seen this. I noticed that both my
background and Microsoft themes had changed somewhere along the way, so
perhaps there are certain settings there that might affect this. I have
changed my settings to use no background and I've tried both a "black" and a
"white" theme without success. I have verified that the autocomplete option
on addresses is checked. Has anybody else experienced this?

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson
