The National Federation of the Blind in Computer Science Annual Business Meeting Minutes for July 12, 2017

A meeting of the National Federation of the Blind in Computer Science (NFBCS) was held at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

The meeting was called to order by President Brian Buhrow at 1:00 p.m.

Several program items were presented, after which President Buhrow called the business meeting to order at 4:48 P.M.

The membership agreed that the minutes for the NFBCS 2016 business meeting need not be read since the minutes had been distributed by e-mail. The minutes were approved.

The treasurer, Curtis Chong, next presented the Treasurer's Report. On July 12, 2017, the NFBCS treasury had a balance of $506.23. This balance did not consider the dues that were paid during the business meeting. The treasurer's report was approved.

Since 2017 is an odd-numbered year, there were no elections.

Following the NFBCS’s board recommendation, it was moved that the NFBCS contribute $400.00, split evenly between the tenBroek and the NFB STEM scholarship. The motion was carried.

The business meeting was adjourned at 4:54 P.M.
