[nfbcs] Images on test

Tracy,
If the test is electronic, the organization providing the certification assessment could take steps to ensure their images are accessible. Providing alt-text, long descriptions (where appropriate), or imbedded descriptions may be a start (if this does not already exist). The WCAG standards provide a decent explanation of how to do this; other resources are out there, too.
If the test is not electronic, the only other suggestion I might have is to contract with someone who can provide tactile graphics for the required images. Personally, I think the reader method would be more efficient though, since tactile graphics may be difficult to interpret depending on the complexity.
HTH,
Michael

Subject: [nfbcs] Images on test

[EXTERNAL EMAIL] WARNING: Be wise. Be cautious.

I'm getting ready to take a certification test. My colleagues who have
already taken it tell me there are some questions that refer to images,
like, "what is the arrow pointing to on Figure B?".

The company giving the test is trying to help me with any accessibility
issues. I suggested I could have someone handy to describe the image, if
that's possible. Are there other possible solutions?

Thanks.

Tracy
