Hi,

 

The western digital pr4100 nas box is pricy but nice.

I bit the bullet and went big with wd 8t red 5400 drives and really couldn't
pull the trigger on an extra $100 per drive for the 7200 rpm drives.

The web interface to configure raid sucks and I couldn't find checkboxes
even with the jaws cursor.

Formatting/configuring raid 5 is fast and I'll have 24t of backup space in
one hour.

The fan is moderately loud when the box first boots then settles down.
