[NFBCS] jaws zoom key

Brian,

There is a Zoom key that will turn off alerts, ALT-WINDOWS-s. Be careful, though, because I apparently did not have both ALT and Windows down and I requested to share my screen. <smile>

In JAWS, JAWSKEY Plus SPACE, followed by the letter s turns on Speech on Demand. This means there is know automatic speech. One can use some reading keys, though, and still get information.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

hello. I had some success with NVDA and Zoom in this regard. I used
NVDA-S, which toggles speech mode through various settings. I still have
to endure the arrival and departure alerts when I want to use Zoom to do
something, but if all I'm doing is listening to a meeting, then this
functionality works. This key is like turning speech off on VoiceOver, that
is, VoiceOver is still running, but it doesn't talk.
Not sure if there is an equivalent command in Jaws. It would be nice to be
able to silence the alerts without having to turn the voice off completely,
but it's a start.
