You might want to try Notepad++  It's a free text editor smarter than 
Windows Notepad supporting many types of code HTML, XML, PowerShell, 
Javascript, etc.  It has many plug-ins too.  I use diff and compare a 
lot since I need to analyze logs and configuration files.
