There is also the pythonvis list on freelists.oorg which is specially for people who are blind or have other disabilities. I have subscribed to it.

To subscribe send a message to
pythonvis-request at freelists.org
with the word subscribe in the subject field.
You will receive a message with a URL which you must follow to confirm the subscription. 
You may need sighted help in filling out the form on the page that this URL leads to. it contains a captcha. 
This is new with freelists. Blame the robot subscribers.
