Hello Alan,

Thorium Reader is accessible on both Linux and Windows. It'll read 
.epub, .daisy, etc ...

You can adjust the colors, font size, columns, paganation, etc ... It 
also works very well with a screen reader, both speech and braille, On 
Windows JAWS and NVDA, and Orca on Linux. It has it's own built-in 
speech engine as well.

You can download it directly from edrlab here:

You can also download it from Windows Strore. I don't know what distro 
you're using but it's available from snap.
