The 2026 Innovation in Science, learning a New Direction, (ISLAND)
Conference on Disability will be held as a virtual event on Monday, August
31, Tuesday, September 1, and Wednesday, September 2, 2026. The sessions
will commence at 6:00 PM EDT and conclude by 8:00 PM on each of these three
consecutive days.
Registration is free for everyone to attend this year if received by August
15, 2026. Registrations received after this date will be accommodated on a
first come first serve basis. For more information about conference
registration or to submit an abstract for presentation, please go to:

Abstract submissions are now open for this year's proceedings and must be
received by July 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM EDT. Accepted presenters will be
notified by July 15, 2026.
The 17th annual ISLAND conference serves as a forum for science educators,
access technology professionals, vocational rehabilitation personnel,
teachers of the visually impaired, special education faculty, and persons
with disabilities that are interested in making Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields of study more accessible to
persons with disabilities. The members of the organizing team are looking
forward to this year's ISLAND conference, and we hope that you will be able
to attend. More information regarding program schedule will be made
available on the conference website by or before July 15, 2026.
