[NFBCS] Postman alternative

I use ThunderClient and their vscode extension. Their CLI is what I use most.
It is supposed to be compatible with Postman scripts.
Once you configure to save to workspace for thunder in the current project it will save it to a thunderclient folder.
All your runs/scripts are there. You can specify iterations, variables, environments, output from one api call to another. Etc…
It only costs $32/year.
I learned how to do it in the extension which was a pain. Then I use the cli from there. I even edit the files and add the variables/etc..
Scripts are easy to read.
You can get my instructions I created for the nfbcs Dec 14th 2025 seminar. Did not get to present all, but you can find it here.

Select “thunderclient” from the combobox. The just cursor down or press “h” for heading. Readit.
Hope this helps.

No direct fixes for you, but I do believe that almost anything that can be done with Postman can also be done with curl at the commandline.
Good luck.

Hello,
The phone system my company uses for our call centers has changed the way we can pull back-end data for custom reports. They are using Data Lakehouse to create Parquet files. However, their interface is difficult to work with, so they suggested using Postman for the data pull. Postman’s accessibility turns out to be worse. Does anyone use a similar app that actually works? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan Stevens
