Subject: Erica C. Vaughns NLS Aspiring Leaders Internship Program, summer 2026

This paid internship-established through an endowment and named in memory of Erica Vaughns, a longtime NLS staff member who created the program-offers legally blind individuals the opportunity to work at NLS in areas that support services for the blind, including collections building, program delivery, and business management. Through this program, interns gain valuable experience and explore potential career options while being guided through mentorships and development activities. The next session runs for 10 weeks during the summer of 2026.
Application Process
Currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students and those who have graduated within the past five years from an accredited two-year or four-year college or university are eligible to apply. In addition, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, legally blind, and able to work remotely.
A complete application package includes a cover letter expressing interest, a resume, a recent official or unofficial transcript, and an application form that is completed online.
Applicants interested in the summer 2026 session must submit completed applications by Sunday, March 1, 2026.
