Baltimore, Maryland (7 de enero del 2009): La Federación Nacional de

Ciegos anunció hoy que las solicitudes ahora se están aceptando para

el Programa de premios del Doctor Jacob

Bolotin 2009. Cada año, la Federación Nacional de

Ciegos proporciona premios de dinero en efectivo a los individuos y a las
organizaciones que han

hecho contribuciones excepcionales

hacia la realización de la integración plena de los ciegos

en la sociedad sobre una base de igualdad.



El Doctor Jacob Bolotin era un médico ciego que vivió y practicó en

Chicago a principios del siglo 20. Era conocído extensamente y

respetado en Chicago

y en el Cercano Oeste durante su carrera, que atravesó el

periódo, a partir de 1912 hasta su muerte prematura, a la edad de treinta y
seis, en

1924. Era particularmente

reconocido por su maestría en las enfermedades del corazón y

de los pulmones. Bolotin utilizó muchos de sus compromisos como orador
público para abogar por el empleo de
