Celebre el Día Nacional de la Tercera Edad el 21 de agosto y apoye a las 
personas mayores ciegas que continúan demostrando todos los días que la 
ceguera

no los detiene.

La Federación Nacional de Ciegos sabe que las personas mayores son 
capaces de afrontar nuevos desafíos y superar todos los obstáculos, y 
ojalá que se una a nosotros homenajeando

a una persona especial en su vida.

La Federación ofrece programas para reunir a las personas mayores ciegas 
de todo el país, esta se mantiene actualizada con recursos útiles y 
genera confianza para

lograr más

éxito. Únase a nuestra serie de conferencias virtuales en las que nos 
reunimos para tratar temas de la ceguera y de la vida diaria.

Conéctese con otros para compartir

consejos útiles, formar relaciones significativas y escuchar más sobre 
cómo vivir la vida que quiere.

Ofrecemos servicios para nuestros adultos mayores en movilidad con 
desplazamiento de bastón blanco, aprendizaje de Braille básico, métodos 
de etiquetado táctil y desarrollo

de competencia en tecnología adaptativa.

ofrece una red donde se pueden responder preguntas, se pueden compartir 
experiencias y se pueden aprender técnicas alternativas.

¡Llevo dos años jubilado y me encanta! Ahora contesto el teléfono de la 
Federación de Minnesota y la mayoría de las llamadas que contesto son de 
personas mayores que

están perdiendo la vista. Aprovecho cada oportunidad para hablarles 
sobre el aprendizaje de nuevas técnicas. Es muy especial compartir con 
la gente una nueva forma de pensar.

Disfruto al retribuir a todas las personas que han marcado una 
diferencia para mí.

Celebrate National Senior Citizens Day on August 21 and support blind 
seniors who continue to prove every day that blindness is not what holds 
you back. The National Federation of the Blind knows that seniors are 
capable of facing new challenges and overcoming all obstacles, and we 
hope you join us by honoring a special person in your life.

The NFB provides programs to bring blind seniors across the nation 
together, remain updated with helpful resources, and build confidence to 
achieve further success. Join our series of virtual conference 
discussions where we come together to cover issues of blindness and 
daily life. Connect with others to share helpful tips, form meaningful 
relationships, and hear more about living the life you want.

We offer services for our seniors in white cane mobility, learning basic 
Braille, tactile labeling methods, and building proficiency in adaptive 
technology. The NFB Seniors Division

a network where questions can be answered, experiences can be shared, 
and alternative techniques can be learned.

One of our seniors shared with us:

/I have been retired for two years and I am loving it! I now answer the 
phone for the NFB of Minnesota and most of the calls I answer are from 
seniors who are losing vision. I take every opportunity to tell them 
about learning new techniques. It is very special to share with people a 
new way of thinking. I enjoy giving back to all the people that have 
made a difference to me./
