Dawn is on a roll! This is time sensitive and may be of interest to
recent or future graduates.
Think about someone you know who is about to finish college or who has
just graduated—this could be great opportunity!
Want to change a life and improve our world?
Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship Applications now being accepted:
There are few things greater a Rotary District can do for any one
individual than selecting them as an Ambassadorial Scholar. Our district can pick
one every year, but we must have qualified applicants. We need people who
are high achievers, exhibit the ideals of Rotary, present themselves as a
positive example and are passionately willing to work for meaningful change
in our world.
Ambassadorial Scholarships:
The Ambassadorial Scholarship selection process is very competitive, so
send your best candidates. Grantees can use their allocation for any
education related expenditure while in the approved country of their choice and is
good for up to one year. Each of our district’s communities should take
this opportunity to seek the finest your area has to offer and challenge
them to compete. It could have far reaching affects on their life and the
lives of those they interact. Applicants must NOT be a Rotarian or an
immediate relative of a Rotarian. Preferably they should be a senior in college,
graduating during 2009, early 2010, or have already graduated with a four
year degree. The Rotary Foundation Trustees encourage districts to select
Ambassadorial Scholars whose study fields have astrong humanitarian impact
and who request to study in countries that do not host many scholars. The
chosen applicant would embark during 2010.
The DEADLINE for applications is Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Application
materials for the Ambassadorial Scholarship are available by downloading it
on-line at _www.rotary.org_ (http://www.rotary.org/) . Type “Ambassadorial
Scholarship” in the search engine at the top right of the website screen.
The website also lists the approved colleges, universities and countries.
Your club should be looking now for candidates as there is a lot of work
to fine tune an effective application. Questions can be directed to Jeff
Roth, the District 6890 Ambassadorial Scholarship Committee Chairman. His
contact information is as follows:
Jeffrey Roth:
H: (863) 452-1754
W: (863) 402-6858
Fax: (863) 452-9079
Email: jefflroth at comcast.net
Remember; submit your applications by Wednesday, April 15, 2009. The
selection committee has targeted to meet during the month of May to conduct
interviews. Mail completed applications to:
Jeffrey Roth, Ambassadorial Scholarship Chairman
District 6890
2482 North Primrose Road
