Dear Marion and Jody,

Just adding my two cents here.
I tried 3 years ago to see if the Radio Reading Service would be interested 
in joining the NFB NEWSLINE service on its channels feature and there by 
provide their service to a wider audience and in such a way that their 
listeners could be counted and therefore give them some leverage for further 
funding.
Tom Hardig and I were working on this until he died, but the Reading Service 
was never warm to the idea.
Newsline can show a readership and the Reading service can't.
They also serve a very limited area whereas newsline serves nationwide.
There is much more bang for the buck with newsline.
I show it to seniors all of the time and it is easy enough for most of them 
to master and use.  Many of them like the fact that they can use it here or 
anywhere they go.
They also like it that they can read the news for papers back in their old 
niegborhood up north, just to see what is going on, who has died and to 
catch up on doings where they use to live.
If I had to choose between the two, I would go with Newsline service over 
the Radio Reading Service.  Newsline is very flexible and expandable and 
could be adapted for many things.
