This month’s Chapter Teaser involves strategies to 

include first-time visitors in our meetings. Sometimes those of us who have been 

in the Federation for one hundred and fifty years forget that we need to take 

the time to share with first-timers the importance of our movement, where money 

from our bake sales goes, and what state and national events they might be 

interested in attending.

February Chapter 

Teaser: Make it a habit to welcome visitors by taking the time 

to talk about the mission of the Federation and explain what is being discussed 

during the meeting. Assign someone to talk with the visitor to find out how the 

NFB can be of assistance to him or her. Be sure to get his or her contact 

information and have one of your more sociable members follow up after the 

meeting.
