Hello all,

I received the following email from my brl Coordinators list giving chapters
and associations of the Delta Gamma sorrority from across the country.
Delta Gamma is a service sorrority, and they typically are involved with
projects which benefit the blind. To make it much easier for you, I have
deleted all but those in Florida. Some are named for a particular
university, others for the city in which they are located. Unfortunately, I
can't even tell where some are located, such as when they merely say
"central Florida". And keep in mind that we don't know phone numbers or
names, but googling, calling directory assistance and asking for Delta
Gamma, or calling the main number of your nearest university just may get
you enough info to get started.

Even better than simply calling a university would be if you know someone
who is an alumna of this sorrority. Anyway, it's worth a try. Only one or
two of us doing this would make a difference. Please read the entire email,
since there are tips for making a contact, and suggestions for activities to
try.

Sherrill

Although I'm not a DG, all sororities are pretty much run the same way.

How to contact: Try contacting the chapter president first. If this
person's contact info is not available on the Web, call the
college/university's Greek Life Office and ask for the contact info for
the President or Philanthropy chair. If you can't get this, see if the
Greek Office can give you a weekly meeting schedule.

What to ask for: Ask for 10 minutes to present at their weekly meeting,
they should say yes-- especially if you tell them that you have a way to
help them accrue philanthropy hours and dollars.

Some ideas to present:
Use the purchase of a coin as a ticket to a crush party, formal, date
party (every school calls these something different)

Challenge a fraternity or another sorority to see who can sell more
coins (this might work especially well for schools who hold Greek Week
competitions during Homecoming)

Have a Braille themed social. (Design shirts with puff paint and
distribute alphabet cards for decoding)

Here are the national DG chapters:

Boca Raton alumnae association
Central Florida alumnae chapter
Epsilon Theta - University of Tampa
Eta Delta - University of North Florida
Ft Lauderdale/Broward County alumnae chapter
Gainesville alumnae association
Gamma Mu - Florida State University
Gamma Theta - University of Florida
Jacksonville alumnae chapter
Miami alumnae chapter
Saint Petersburg alumnae chapter
Sarasota alumnae chapter
Stuart alumnae hope group
Tallahassee alumnae association
Tampa alumnae chapter
