Did you forget your old friend David Evans? I am a retired

nuclear/Aerospace Materials Engineer.

I have been blind since age 16 due to RP, but got all of my degrees and

engineering experience later.

Things have certainly changed over the years, if anything they have gotten

better, and the tools we use today are better and easier to use.

He can not listen to the people who tell him that he can not be an engineer.

He must be true to his convictions and believe in himself. He will have to

work harder to prove himself and stand up for himself when others do not.

I never told any employer that I was legally blind until I had to near the

end of my career. I worked for Lockheed Space and Missiles, Lunar Rover

Labs, the Stanford Research Institute and Lanier Accelerator, General

Electric, Nuclear Energy Division and Garrett Aviation Hydraulics Division

before retiring.

I have gone back to work in the Transit field now and work for MV Transit as

their Consumer Advocate in Palm Beach County Florida.

If I can help this young person, have him contact me at

drevans at bellsouth.net .
