It was actually March 30, 1981.  I remember it well because it was my 
birthday, but a little over 2 months after President Ragan's inauguration. 
John Hinkley shot the President in Washington on that day, fortunately not 
killing him.  But for some twisted reason known only to himself and perhaps 
a psychiatrist or two, thought this would make Jody Foster admire him.
