[Nfbf-l] NFBF State Convention in St. Petersburg

Hi everyone,

 

I just wanted to remind everyone about the great location we have for this
years NFBF state convention.  The hotel is the same one we used in 2003 for
our convention and is probably one of the easiest to navigate.  The area is
very scenic being near the bay and is surrounded by many different types of
coffee shops and restaurants.  There is even a Publix, a Subway and a CVS
drug store within a few hundred yards of the hotel.  Tropicana field, home
of the Tampa Bay Rays is only a short cab ride away as well and the Rays
will be in town that whole weekend and on into the week following the
convention so come for an extra day or two and extend your stay and go see
the Rays play.

 

I would also like to remind you of the importance of the convention.  This
is where we meet annually to conduct affiliate business which includes
elections of officers and board members and to approve and vote on
resolutions.  The state convention focuses on "our" own affiliate, it's
officers, board members and it's chapters and members and provides a time
for us to meet and plan the following year.  It is a time to learn and
share.  There will be lots to do including many many seminars and workshops
covering a wide range of topics such as senior affairs, guide dogs, and
technology just to mention a few.

 

If you haven't made your reservations yet I strongly encourage you to hurry
as time is running short.  There has been times where I nearly waited to
long and almost didn't get a room.  We really would love to have all of our
Florida NFB friends come and join us in celebrating another year of great
accomplishment and to move forward into a new year.  We the members of the
Pinellas chapter of the NFBF want to welcome you and we look forward to
helping you enjoy your time here in beautiful downtown St. Petersburg.
