I know that there are strong feelings on both sides of this issue. We really
need to keep these off-topic political discussions off the NFBF-L Listserv.
There are many forums for this kind of discussion. I use my FaceBook account
for my political pronouncements. There are many other venues to make your
views heard.

      Dear Taras,

I'm a Republican, and I went to that Safeway parking lot in Tucson
last January to tell Congresswoman Giffords that I disagreed with her
position on health care. I never could have imagined the nightmare that
followed.

Six people were killed and 13 more were shot, including Rep. Gabby
Giffords and me. My injuries have healed, but my heart still hurts at the
memory of nine-year-old Christina Taylor-Green -- she had her whole life
ahead of her before she was brutally murdered.

Today marks one year since the shooting. Please take a minute to watch
this video of a few of us who were lucky to survive that day and join us in
remembering the friends, family and neighbors we lost.

One thing that helped me cope this past year was seeing our nation
come together to support survivors and families that lost loved ones. And
that's what I hope happens again today.

Join me in honoring those we lost in Tucson and anyone who has been
devastated by gun violence. Share a message or a prayer with survivors,
attend a vigil if there's one near you or just share a moment of silence
with your family:

Whatever you do, I want to thank you for standing with all of us in
Tucson and for honoring everyone affected by gun violence.

      Sincerely,
      Colonel Bill Badger
      Tucson Survivor

of gun violence today. Click here to learn more.
