[Nfbf-l] Changing the Dates of the Convention

Hi Everyone,
I too believe that we need to change the date for our convention. We
once held it over the Labor Day weekend but we changed to the Memorial Day
Weekend because of the huge threat of hurricanes that could strike any part
of Florida. This is still a big consideration so I do not think we dare
change the date of convention to September or October.
During the many years I worked at Daytona State College we always
recognized MLK day and did not work on that Monday. We never got off from
work on President's Day.
It's truly a tough decision that we must come to terms about.
Sherrill makes a good point about hotels increasing their rates when all of
the snow birds come to Florida.
Does anyone actually know the date of Martin Luther King day? I do
not have a calendar for 2013. I do believe at this point that that is our
best option.

Thanks,

Kathy Davis

I agree.

I think September or October would be better than January due to the
Holidays being so close.
