[Nfbf-l] Changing the Dates of the Convention

Looking at the holiday calendar, it does seem like Martin Luther
King Jr. Day weekend is the best option. President's Day in
February would be really close to Washington Seminars and
the Vision Summit in Tallahassee. Then, from Labor Day through
the end of the year, we're faced with peak pricing for accommodations.
I really like the idea of having five to six months between state
and national convention. With the conventions being so close
together as they are now, our interaction with each other tends
to lag between September and late February. State convention
in January and National convention in July gives us the opportunity
to keep momentum and enthusiasm going throughout the year.

Subject: [Nfbf-l] Changing the Dates of the Convention
Hi everyone,
There is a lot of passion in the Nfbf so much that I will broach another
ubject which I am sure will bring out differences of opinions. On like
ther thing this does not mean changing the Constitution, just a simple
ote.. I would like to see us change the dates of the state convention to
ometime in the winter. For the next five years the national convention will
ake place in Florida. I believe that many Floridians will want to visit
hat convention in July. It will make easier for us to change the weekend
hat we have ours and also to raise the money to go to more than one. I
ecommend the weekend that has Martin L King as a holiday on Monday. We
ould also commemorate King as we do now with Memorial Day. What do you all
hink.
