David Evans,
You mention in your comments, "shut my chapter down", perhaps you
took it personal, but it is the members chapter.
The conspiracy theory of ACB vs. NFB comes across as unnecessary
paranoia. There is no need for this belief, it is faulty thinking.
We should be building bridges not tearing them down. We should let
go of the anger and move on productively and with positive purpose. We
should look toward the future not stuck on “in the past”. Progress
and the future are components to our organizations success, which each
of us take pride in.
It appears to me that perhaps some persons in leader roles have had
little experience in other organizations that would have enhanced their
potential for effective and appropriate leadership skills and communication.
One thing I learned is that all organizations grow, learn, and move
forward. Change is growth and the past is a foundation, but it
should never be the only view. Growth. Moving ahead. Change.
Building membership and retaining membership are primary. How many
have left because they do not want the stress of hostile reactions,
bullying, or persistent ineffective leadership? Let's have solid
leadership with well run meetings that are organized and functional.
Preparation. Guest speakers. Sincere fellowship. Purposeful agendas.
A welcoming atmosphere. These characteristics would be great
foundation and chances are we would find the new members rolling in.
It is worth a try.
  .
 Cathy-Alice
