Well, it appears that the flash drive problem I mentioned over the weekend may be solved. I tried to reformat it yesterday but with no luck and it just didn’t seem that my system was responding to the drive at all. I called NLS support and they suggested that maybe I had too many books on their, but I wasn’t getting that message, and they wondered if maybe there was something wrong with the flash drive or my computer. So, I found out about a man who fixes computers and people in our building have had good luck with him. He came over today and sure enough, my system had stopped recognizing the flash drive for some reason and one of my USB ports seemed to be malfunctioning. He also pointed out that with all my books, I still had over half of my flash drive free, which is incredible. I also found out that rather than e:, which we thought it was, on my system the flash drive is f: and once I indicated that I wanted the files to go to that drive, presto, I downloaded a book. It’s nice to know competent, local people who can come right to the house and o yes, this guy has worked with blind people before.
