POSITION: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
FULL-TIME /EXEMPT
SUPERVISION
RECEIVED: Works under the direction and supervision of the President of the
Board of Directors
RESPONSIBILITIES
INCLUDE: Ensure the delivery of the four-core services of the Independent
Living Program including: Information and Referral, Peer Support,
Independent Living Skills Training and Advocacy at the CILNCF
locations in a manner compliant with the RSA requirements.
Major Job Functions:
. Employ, direct, control and terminate all paid professional, clerical and other employees
of the CILNCF except where delegated.
. Develop and negotiate contracts and grants with public and private sources except where
delegated.
. Establish and oversee fiscal systems, prepare cost estimates and budgets and present to
the Board of Directors regular financial reports.
. Carry out publicity, public relations and fund raising on behalf of the CILNCF, except
where delegated.
. Provide leadership and assistance to staff in setting-up program priorities, planning and
delivery of services.
. Develop ongoing staff development and training program and participate in the teaching
of skills as appropriate.
. Maintain personnel policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient management
of the CILNCF.
. Supervise, prepare and maintain reports as required by funding sources and the Board of
Directors.
. Develop and oversee the monitoring and evaluation system to measure program
successes and failures.
. Serve as a liaison with federal, state and local agencies and legislative bodies where
appropriate.
. Mobilize community resources including volunteers, consumers, consultants, and
professionals to help the CILNCF achieve its goals.
. Oversee the delivery of the four-core and other services at the satellite locations.
. Provide orientation, supervision and evaluation of program staff.
. Record and track consumer data to establish consumer needs, priorities and goals.
. Coordinate services with other providers at the request of the consumer and/or in
response to the needs of the center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
. Demonstrated expertise in community and public relations, fund raising activities, oral
and written communication, legislative matters, business administration, and program
development and management
. Commitment to the policies of consumer participation in the decision making process and
consumer involvement in program development and implementation.
. Demonstrated ability to organize, mediate, negotiate and resolve conflicts between
different interest groups.
. Masters degree from an accredited university.
. Minimum of two years experience in human social services
. Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
. Understanding of the independent living philosophy and movement.
. Demonstrated ability to work with staff and consumers on a cross-disability basis.
. Knowledge of disability civil rights legislation and laws.
. Awareness of community resources and larger systems serving people with disabilities.
